He exhibited his work widely in Britain, including the Royal Academy, where he exhibited 18 paintings, the Royal Scottish Academy, as well as in Paris and New York. Many of Sauter’s works are in private collections in South Africa, the United States, Italy and Morocco. He has three paintings in the Government Art Collection.
