'Papillin' ~ Ukrainian Oksana 2024 oil with metalic acrylic on stretched canvas 700 x 1000mm by Jo Beer (born 1938), signed to lower left and further titled and signed to verso, complete with gilt frame. The title is a reference to the large butterfly tattoo on the sitter's chest and the art deco butterfly wallpaper which has been painted in shimmering bronze acrylic. Jo loves unusual compositions, she loves the mane golden dreadlocks that the model rests her head on, the tattoos and the intense gaze.
